Guy Cicero is originally from Cicero, Illinois. Cicero was in the 50’s and 60’s a great place to grow up—and a lot of great folks did. But by the time I was 16 or so, I knew I wanted to leave.
After college, I left Cicero for 42 years, living for long stretches in the San Francisco Bay Area and in Virginia. I returned to Chicagoland for a job, experienced a profound Rip Van Winkle effect, and have settled into a Chicagoland very different and yet very much the same.
